UUVB is happy to welcome the Reverend Dr. Laura McGuire as their new affiliate minister. Affiliate ministers are UU clergy who have ministries that are innovative and involved in multiple communities, and who seek rooted connection with a congregation as their spiritual and professional home base. Rev. Dr. McGuire comes from a background as a social scientist who specializes in misconduct prevention, consent education, and trauma-informed care. Their ministries include creating trainings on these topics for legal and insurance professionals, as well as being a regularly featured author and a professor at multiple universities. As part of their ministry with UUVB, they will be offering a monthly group spiritual direction program on a rotating list of topics.
