December 2024:

Our December theme is Living Love Through the Practice of Presence.

Welcome to the month of December and to our new monthly theme of Living Love Through the Practice of Presence. This month will be an exploration of how to stay present and how to notice the deeper gifts of the season.

We will have the children join their parents and the congregation for the worship services on December 15th for holiday music and reflection and on December 22nd for a unique experience revolving around the Solstice. There will not be a separate R.E. Children’s Lesson on those days. The RE Children’s Program will also not be running on December 29; however, we will have activity packets available to borrow throughout the service.
This is a busy season for us all, which is why practicing being present in the moment is ever so meaningful. We will be engaging the children with the idea of how to be still and attentive among these busy times and changing of the seasons.

Dec. 1 – Presence and Attention.

Welcome to the Practice of Presence! This Sunday we will be delving into the act of slowing down and paying attention. We will be making inspiration boxes and playing games to explore how to pay attention amongst the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives.

Dec. 8 – Presence and Hope, Gift Giving, & Gifts Hidden in the Darkness.

We will be combining ideas from various lessons this Sunday to remind us to slow down, pause, and notice the presence of the treasures already here and gifts already given. This will be a day of playing games and understanding different ideas of celebration for the holidays and the changing season.

Dec. 15 – Time for All Ages and Holiday Music

Children will join their families and congregation for a Time for All Ages and Holiday Music in the sanctuary for the duration of the service (10am-11am). Activity packets will be available for the children to pick up before the service and return to the basket afterward.

Dec. 24 – Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 5:30pm.

Children and families are invited to come for the evening candlelight service. It will be an evening of stories, songs, and carols. There will be mulled cider available following the service.

Dec. 22 – Solstice Sunday
Children will join their families and congregation for a unique Solstice celebration service in the sanctuary from 10am-11am. The service will have a theatrical feel to celebrate the changing of seasons.
The congregation will have an opportunity to light candles and experience animated stories, chanting, and singing.

Dec. 29 – No R.E. Children Program today

There will be activity packets available for the children to borrow throughout the duration of the service. Take and return to the basket near the membership table.
