Readings in UU History, Explores Our UU Past

Reverend Tom and Steve Becker will offer a new discussion group in April exploring eight important readings from the foundations of Unitarian Universalism.

Selections include:

  • William Ellery Channing’s “Unitarian Christianity,”
  • Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Divinity School Address,”
  • Henry David Thoreau’s “Civil Disobedience,”
  • Hosea Ballou’s “A Treatise on Atonement,”
  • and William Sinkford’s “The Language of Faith.”

Participants will be asked to read each selection, pick quotes that resonate with them, and reflect on how the readings deepen their understanding of Unitarian Universalism.

These four 90-minute discussion groups will run after services on April 19th, April 26th, May 3rd, and May 10th.
