UU Halloween Hullabaloo
Friday, Oct. 30th 2026
6:00-9:00pm
@UUFVB (cafeteria)
It is NOT a public event, so sorry.
Tired of being a *normal adult, always lured into handing out seasonal candy? Well, we Wishstars are about to change all that! This night let your inner hooligan out, on the eve BEFORE Halloween – Friday, Oct. 30th @6-9pm! Halloween’in isn’t just for kids, it’s your time to get creative and have some ghoulish fun. Join us for this spooktacular event within our UU community – celebrating our inner weirdo. Party like you’ll need Advil the next morning. Here’s how…
1. Dress up in Costume (it’s a contest).
2. (Bring Your Own) BYO ‘TREATS’ (Food &/or Drinks to share).
3. Play our interactive Games.
4. Dance your bootie off.
RSVP (by 10/25):

Hey now, don’t miss this UU Halloween Hullabaloo event.
Lights! Camera! Dracula is that you!?!
Details:
1. Come in Costume.
That means you dress up! This is the time to bring out your inner monster and letting them run-a-muck. Though there won’t be running, only dancing, so make sure to have a safe, movable, costume. There’s a contest too, best start prepping in August at your local thrift store or home closet.
2. BYO Treats.
Bring your own treats, means whatever you like to eat then share that. Don’t sit alone in the dark stuffing your face, I see you! Spooky amuse-bouche treats to wet the palate of the night work. Maybe treats like… mini cupcakes, fruit splatters, spider DEVILed eggs (I’m looking at you), punch, lemonade, a bag of (extra) T&T candy, chocolate covered pretzels, whatever it is I’m sure it will be eaten… hopefully AFTER you get here.
Here’s my Pinterest board for wild Halloween food and costume ideas for UUFVB.
Note, provide around 50+ tiny servings. There will probably over a hundred UUFVB hangry folk at this event. Please label your serving dish and take it with you when you leave for the night. 😉
*Plates, Cups, & Utensils will be provided.
*T&T stands for ‘Trick or Treat’.
3. Play Games.
There will be no kissing booth, but maybe a hissing booth. Your choice to participate, but the more that do the funnier it becomes. Spoiler alert, everyone probably loses because it’s Halloween.
4. Dance.
You’ll hear the beat, toes will be a tappin, it might just be musical-chair-dancin but however you boogie it will be caught on film. Just kidding, have fun on that non slip dance floor and keep your skeleton in tact.
This event is sponsored by us, Vanessa & Steve Wishstar, because a long time ago back in the late 90’s, there was Ginger from Gilligan’s Island and a (homemade) Duck who fell in love at first sight. Then our costumes came off and we married each other. We lived in the mountains of Colorado for two decades, celebrating our weirdoness by awakening Halloween within our sleepy mountain town. Discovering 300 monsters trekking through the slick snowy mountains to trick or treat throughout our local community. There were fireside handouts, whole haunted houses (*cough… ours to name a few), there were mobile trick or treat stations with a wheel barrel and a questionable grave’d person. We created intentional chaos, celebrating life that needs a little mystery and quirky magick! And these 19 years of Halloween hootinanny was all BEFORE kids. But now we have U&U, grown ups that could use a dose of any-age-magick and this is why we created a UU Halloween Hullabaloo, to bring out YOUR creative, funny, alternate personality. Life is short, so make it fun… even if you have to do it sitting down.
This event is for those who are connected in someway to UUFVB.
It is NOT a public event, so sorry.
Join us in Fellowship on Sundays @ 10am to be part of this amazing community.
Boohaha!
