The Rough & Tumble and Corrina Sowers Adler to Perform in Sunday services

A few of you with excellent memories may recognize The Rough & Tumble as the composers of the song, My Atheist Sister.   Last year, they generously gave me the sheet music and allowed us to perform their song at UUFVB.  This year, they will be performing this song and another original song, Hymn, at the UU on Sunday, February 1 during our 10am service.

Americana Highways describes their music as such:  “The Rough & Tumble make music that’s progressive folk style, rooted in acoustic bluegrass, with lyrics that are provocative and sensitive on each side as you flip the coin.”  They have been showcased at the Folk Alliance festival in 2023 and 2026.   You can listen to their music at their website:  https://www.theroughandtumble.com/music.

The following Sunday, February 8, Corrina Sowers Adler, a Broadway Cabaret singer, will be leading the music at our Sunday service.  Corinna was a close friend of UUFVB member, the late Dottie Grant, and performed a concert at the Emerson Center in years past.  At that concert, Corinna introduced me to the song,  The Christians and the Pagans, that we performed in December!  After the Sunday service, Corrina will be conducting a Choral Workshop for the choir members – and anyone interested in joining the choir.  Please contact Elizabeth Borne for details.

We all need the Joy of Music at this tumultuous time in our country.  Please join us in service for some uplifting songs!
