Welcoming Committee News

The Welcoming Committee reminds everyone that welcoming.congregation@uufvb.org is our email address. If you have news, questions, comments, or suggestions for the Welcoming Committee, send it to us using that email address. We eagerly await hearing from you.

Our committee has an important date for April 2025, our meeting is Wednesday April 16 at 4 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome to participate in our discussion. We meet in the UU library or Olympia Brown Room.

We will host a workshop, “Building a Beloved Community Beyond the Binary,” on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Mark your calendars.

Within our Congregation we have and will continue to affirm and support the LBGTQ+ community.

We have pursued forming a new PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Gays and Lesbians) Chapter. Please contact us if you would be interested in joining.

Each Sunday we have a table set up during coffee hour with information about our community and laws affecting us. Sign up sheets for upcoming workshops will be available.

We proudly display the Pride Flag in the Sanctuary and our welcoming congregation renewal poster in the lobby as you enter the building.

We also have a strong relationship with The Coalition for Racial Justice Committee and support their work.

As you can see, we are and will remain a strong part of UUFVB and the core values we uphold with Love at the center.
