It seems that some time ago, maybe in my youth, the world was a more reliable place. Not that it was safe; there were nuclear bomb drills in classrooms, but it seemed that one could go to bed and wake up the next morning to pretty much the same world. This might be the unreliable filter of nostalgia. Either way, today’s world seems very unpredictable and sometimes even dangerous. Christians believe they can give their troubles to God and rest safely in “His” arms. In what, then, do we agnostics, atheists, humanists, liberal Christians, Jews, and others put our trust and rest in faith?
