Elizabeth Borne has been an active participant of UUFVB since she and her family started attending in April 2010.  She has been married to her husband, Ladd, for 25 years, and they have 2 boys (young men!), Andrew (20) and Matthew (15).  She grew up in a musical family and began singing in church and taking piano lessons at a young age.  Elizabeth played flute and oboe at VBHS and went on to attend Stetson University to obtain her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting.

While at Stetson, she enjoyed singing in the Chapel Choir and the Choral Union, under the direction of Dr. Robert Fort.  Back in Vero Beach, Elizabeth sang with the Vero Beach Choral Society, under the direction of Dr. Ray Adams, and with the Atlantic Schola Cantorum, under the direction of Dr. Jose Daniel Flores. Elizabeth joined the UUFVB Adult choir and then organized and began directing a UUFVB Children’s Choir.  In addition to singing and movement, Elizabeth also incorporated simple bell parts for the children to play.  Under Music Director Ann Hossler, that volunteer experience grew to occasionally directing the adult choir for more complicated songs and for combined choir performances. In June 2018, Elizabeth made a major life decision to resign from her accounting job of 24 years to pursue more life-fulfilling work.

Elizabeth is currently working as a bookkeeper for a few local non-profits and is thrilled to now be the part time Assistant Music Director at UUFVB!
