The Fellowship’s Little Free Library Appreciates Bookssj-little-free-library

Did you know that UUFVB sponsors a Little Free Library in Vero Beach? Two committees (Social Justice and Children’s Religious Education) collaborated in 2014 to fund, build, and install a LFL in front of Harvest Food & Outreach (now known as United Against Poverty) on Old Dixie south of Oslo Road.

In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a container of both adult and children’s books from which anyone may pick up a book or two and bring back another book to share.  The Little Free Library mission is to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide.

Stewart Barnes and Nancy Stiefel maintain the library along with Carol and Paul Amaru and Barbara Lipton during the summer months.  They learned right away that children’s books disappear quickly.  If you can help stock our cute red box, please donate children’s and young adult books, new or lightly used.  Bring them to the church office or give them directly to Nancy, Stewart, or Barbara.   Thank you for supporting this social justice project!
