Temperance

Sermon 6 in the Year-long Series, “Living by the Fruits of the Spirit” Rev. Scott W. Alexander preaching. When St. Paul (in his Second Century letter to the Christians in Galatia–Galatians 5:16-27) compiled his list of the “Fruits of the Spirit”,  the last human virtue he mentions is temperance (or self-control). This Sunday, as I continue our sermon series, we will reflect on this all-important attribute of living. All of us need voluntary self-restraint in life, because if we don’t control our appetites (and emotions), they will control us.
