Navigating Life’s Obstacles and Irritations

Scott writes: Recently, a member of our congregation-who was facing a significant obstacle in her life-taught me the value of keeping spiritual perspective, when she said to me, “Scott, don’t feel sorry for me, for this is (after all) a first-world problem.” We Americans-living in the wealthiest an most successful culture in the world-sometimes can’t see the forest for the trees in our own lives. This Sunday I want to reflect on how-as Unitarian Universalists-we should spiritually navigate life’s inevitable (and numerous) obstacles and irritations.
