If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children.
No one has yet fully realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness and generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure.
Children are our most valuable resource.
I continue to believe that if children are given the necessary tools to succeed, they will succeed beyond their wildest dreams.
The potential possibilities of a child are the most intriguing and stimulating in all creation.
Pausing to listen to an airplane in the sky, stooping to watch a ladybug on a plant, sitting on a rock to watch the waves crash over the quayside. Children have their own agendas and timescales. As they find out more about their world and their place in it, they work hard not to let adults hurry them. We need to hear their voices.
Research has shown time and time again that infants who receive high-quality care and early education programs do better in school, have more developed social skills, and display fewer behavior problems.
Play, while it cannot change the external realities of children’s lives can be a vehicle for children to explore and enjoy their differences and similarities and to create even for a brief time, a more just world where everyone is an equal and valued participant.
Truly wonderful the mind of a child is.
