The Social Justice Steering Committee is offering a screening of this 2002 British Broadcasting Corporation documentary about the rise of psychoanalysis as a powerful means of persuasion for both governments and corporations.  The film is in four hour-long episodes; part four will be shown in the UUFVB library on May 7th followed by discussion. Even if you missed the earlier episodes, you are welcome to attend to view part four. The public is invited as well for this free event, so bring friends and neighbors.  No reservation is necessary.

From a review by Sandsquish:  Documentarian Adam Curtis’ bewildering collage of film clips, pop-music snippets, and interviews helps portray the slightly absurd and surreal cynicism and manipulation practiced by the 20th-century’s supposedly enlightened business and political leaders.
