“What Would Jesus Do, Really?”

On my way to the church each day, I pass an inordinate amount of signs that say: Jesus Loves Me or Jesus Saves. The Jesus I know, the historical, radical, Jewish agitator, isn’t really a fun loving guy. He’s not what the signs proclaim. If he were to come back today, I think he’d be a little disappointed in us. Mainly because we humans aren’t that good at building, keeping and restoring community at times. We lack a certain commitment to healing a broken world. So the question is, what Jesus are we called to embrace?
